UBP Announces Acquisition of Accubrace Shoring, LLC
Universal Building Products is pleased to announce the acquisition of Accubrace® Shoring, LLC and Atlas Anchoring, LLC. Accubrace, a manufacturer and distributor of total bracing systems for the tilt-up slab and precast wall construction industry, was established in 1999 by Brad Stannard. Focusing on soil anchor installation and heavy shoring, the employees of Accubrace bring over 60 years combined experience in soil analysis, excavation and deep foundation in the tilt-up and precast industries. Accubrace shoring methodology was recognized by the TCA with the Robert Aiken Innovation Award in 2007. “The process offers labor savings and efficiency to the process of temporarily bracing a panel.” Based in Howard Lake, MN, Accubrace has additional locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Alabama and Florida.
Jeff Church, CEO of Universal Building Products stated “We are thrilled to add Accubrace to the UBP family of products. They bring expertise in total-bracing-systems that leads the industry.” Post acquisition, Accubrace and Atlas will be known as Accubrace, Inc., and will continue doing business as usual with the added strength of the UBP product line behind it.
UBP Exhibits at World of Concrete
UBP unveiled several exciting new products at the 2008 World of Concrete recently held in Las Vegas.
A new booth allowed UBP to showcase their newest products, including a live demonstration of the new Self-Rising Core Form System. Attendees were able to see first-hand how Universal Building Products’ revolutionary new system constructs high rise cores faster and more efficiently than conventional form construction.
Completely self-sufficient, the Self-Rising Core System allows one lift of a building core every 2 – 3 days, without the need of your tower crane. Other phased projects stay on track and the overall project becomes more efficient and remains on schedule. Larry Harris, Forming Product Manager, noted that having a working self-riser in the booth brought the concept to life for the World of Concrete attendees.
UBP personnel were kept busy each day demonstrating products for our customers, and answering questions regarding use of products in the field -- but at the end of the day were able to wind down with booth visitors over beer and pretzels.
